Paul F. Eötvös - Pianist / Conductor / Arranger

Paul Eotvos

Paul Eötvös has a long and impeccable pedigree as a pianist/conductor, arranger and music educator.
His studies with Zoltán Vásárhelyi and Zoltán Kodály, at the Conservatorium and Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest was followed by workshops with Nicolai Malko and Sir George Solti in Vienna.

In Australia at the Sydney Conservatorium, he furthered his studies with Raymond Hanson (composition),
and with Robert Miller (conducting).

His interest in Jazz led him to study with  Maestro Tommy Tycho (arranging) and later, with
David Baker - Dean of Jazz Studies at Indiana University USA.

Paul has worked solidly as a pianist/arranger and musical director for many visiting international artists,
and has also been preparing students for advanced practical and theory of music A.M.E.B.,
Trinity College of London and A.N.Z.C.A. examinations.

From 1990 to 1999 Paul was the instrumental music co-ordinator at Trinity Lutheran  Primary School on the Gold Coast, and introduced the Kodály Music Developmental Program, as well as teaching piano, theory of music and establishing the school orchestra.  In 1997 he was appointed  Conductor/ Musical Director for the Queensland Suzuki String Orchestra with regular performances at the University of Queensland,
Brisbane Performing Arts Centre and at the Pan Pacific Conference  Concert in Brisbane.

Since 1999, Paul has focused on teaching  Piano, Jazz, Vocal, Improvisation, Theory,
composition and arranging.

Paul is a member of the Music Arrangers' Guild of Australia.
